2012 Remodeling Show

This was my first time attending the Remodeling Show and I was very impressed at how well organized it was.  A pleasure as both a speaker and attendee!

I co-presented a seminar “Technology for Aging in Place:  Understand Their Needs, Expand Your Business” with my colleague, Debra Young, an Occupational Therapist, who owns EmpowerAbility.

The foundation of the seminar covered:

-the impact of enabling design on the ability to successfully age in place

-the societal and demographic factors driving and shaping aging in place

-the sensory changes which occur with typical ages, and general solutions

The 2nd half of the seminar, presented by Debra, addressed various types of technologies:  systems and products, which can enable aging in place.
