Best Bath is a family owned company that has been working to enable all individuals by providing respectful bathing options for over 40 years.  They credit many of their innovative product solutions not only to their staff, but to input and feedback from clients in the field.  For example, they offer in-wall radiant heat in their shower units and walk-in tubs after a nun from a senior housing center asked if it was possible to add heat to keep her frail residents warm during and immediately after bathing.  Although there has not been a commercial project requesting this new technology yet, it is available upon request.  Will your project be the first?  Thanks to this idea, all Best Bath Systems walk-in tubs now have heated seats.  This keeps bathers warm while the tub fill and drains.

During the seminar, Cal explained that ADA products meet the requirements of the ADAAG, while “barrier free” designs eliminate unnecessary obstacles through thoughtful design.  Barrier free options are ideal in private residences where the ADA does not apply.  Best Bath offers solutions such as adaptable showers, and the ONE Bath System with unifloor construction to create a seamless floor in a wet room-type bathroom (also referred to as European design).  For some large facilities, this solution has eliminated ongoing maintenance difficulties common with traditional tile and grout walls and floors.

Best Bath’s fiberglass composite and laminated shower comes in a gel coat finish or solid surfacing.  The gelcoat is the same as you would find on a sail boat, minus the UV protection.  The solid surface offers the look of granite, without the cost of the typical panel alternatives.  The quality of these options allows Best Bath to offer a 30 year limited warranty.

The information-packed event generated many questions from the group, and principal Associate, Cindy Kaufman, was particularly interested in learning more about solving the problems HOLT’s clients face in bathing environments.
