age-friendly housing + design

The design of products, information, housing, and communities typically does not consider the diversity of needs and abilities which occur due to normal aging and disease.  The resulting unnecessary obstacles reduce levels of functioning and increase dependence for older adults.  This is preventable.

Using the Enabling Design approach, we consider the physical, behavioral, socioeconomic and psychological characteristics of older adults to create environments which enable people to function at their highest levels of independence and THRIVE.

Trainings include private, custom trainings, CEU courses, and NAHB’s Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation and Universal/Design Build course.
